Michigan resources

• Self-exclude from online sports betting and casino: Michigan's Responsible Gaming Database (Michigan Gaming Control Board) lets you ban yourself from all Michigan-regulated online sportsbooks and casinos for 1 or 5 years.
• Michigan Problem Gambling Helpline: 1-800-270-7117, free and confidential, 24/7.
• More help and tips: MGCB responsible gaming and Don't Regret the Bet.

Outside Michigan? 1-800-GAMBLER works nationwide, and most states run their own self-exclusion programs. Every licensed sportsbook app also has deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion in its account or responsible gaming settings.

Tips to keep it fun

• Set a budget before you start and only bet money you can afford to lose. Treat it as the cost of entertainment.
• Use your book's limits. Set deposit, wager and time limits in FanDuel, BetMGM or any app you use.
• Keep stakes small, especially on long shots and big parlays. Our "units" are a suggested share of your normal bet, not a target.
• Never chase losses. A slip is never a sure thing, and the next one won't win it back.
• Don't bet when you're upset, tired or drinking.
• Take breaks. Skipping a game day costs you nothing.
• Watch for warning signs: betting more than you planned, borrowing to bet, hiding it from people close to you, or feeling anxious when you're not betting. If any of these sound familiar, call 1-800-GAMBLER.
